More about Mercedes Munoz

Mercedes Muñoz has been a Learning Specialist at Franklin High School (FHS) since 2013. She received her master of science in special education from Portland State University in 2017. As a member of the Franklin Faculty, Muñoz has been instrumental in the development of the special education push-in model at Franklin. Muñoz has participated as a member of the FHS Equity Team, served on the Safety and FHS Poetry Slam Committees, and is a strong advocate for the recruitment of historically underserved students into the Advanced Placement Program. Muñoz is a leader in advocating for the learning needs of all students and believes not only in the power of inclusion, but also in ensuring that all students are seen, heard, offered multiple modes of expression, and are prepared for transition.
