Washington, DC (March 27, 2018) – Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) Executive Director Carissa Moffat Miller released the following statement about Vermont Education Secretary Rebecca Holcombe.
“Secretary Holcombe has been a champion for the children in Vermont, and a real leader in the state’s efforts to make sure every child grows up ready to participate in civic and economic life in the 21st century,” said Carissa Moffat Miller, executive director of CCSSO. “She has been an important voice for equity as state chiefs work to deliver an equitable education to all of the nation’s students.”

The Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) is a nonpartisan, nationwide, nonprofit organization of public officials who head departments of elementary and secondary education in the states, the District of Columbia, the Department of Defense Education Activity, and five U.S. extra-state jurisdictions. CCSSO provides leadership, advocacy, and technical assistance on major educational issues.
