Description:  The Deputy Commissioner, Strategy will play an integral role in developing and supporting the Colorado Department of Education's (CDE) strategic plan, including a specific focus on operational excellence. This role provides direct leadership for the internal operations (including oversight of the Chief Financial Officer (Accounting, Budget, Contracts and Procurement) and Information Management Systems (IMS) to ensure that CDE is positioned to provide the necessary support for Colorado's school districts and the department as a whole. Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner, Strategy, will collaborate with the Commissioner and the senior leadership team to coordinate and manage the essential day-to-day business of the agency; facilitate cross-departmental relationships; and execute key projects necessary for departmental success. The Deputy Commissioner, Strategy, is responsible for developing short-term and long-term strategic priorities for the agency and collaborating with the department’s leadership teams to ensure the department’s work aligns to those priorities. This role is critical in ensuring the operational efficiency and effectiveness of CDE.  

Salary:  $160,000.00 - $185,000.00 Annually
