Washington, D.C. (April 9, 2021) – The Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) convened a meeting yesterday between state education chiefs and Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona.
More than 35 chiefs and CCSSO leadership joined the meeting, where they discussed ongoing K-12 education priorities, including the distribution of federal COVID relief funds, assessment waiver requests, the Biden Administration’s infrastructure proposal, and future innovations in the education system.
Chiefs and CCSSO leadership frequently meet with the Secretary of Education and senior department leadership to discuss how best to support the needs of students in every state. We look forward to continued conversations as we work together to provide equitable educational opportunities for all students.
