Washington, D.C. (December 16, 2020) – The Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) convened a meeting this afternoon between state education chiefs and members of the Biden-Harris transition.
The meeting included more than 40 state chiefs, CCSSO leadership, and members of the transition team. Chiefs discussed their top federal priorities for the coming year, including equity, assessment and accountability, broadband Internet access, school nutrition programs, and flexible federal funding to meet the needs of all students.
CCSSO and state chiefs look forward to working with the Biden Administration to advance equitable educational opportunities for every student.

The Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) is a nonpartisan, nationwide, nonprofit organization of public officials who head departments of elementary and secondary education in the states, the District of Columbia, the Department of Defense Education Activity, Bureau of Indian Education, and five U.S. extra-state jurisdictions.
