The Pennsylvania Department of Education has been working hard to elevate school leaders as agents of change in schools and communities across the Commonwealth.  As a member of the Wallace Foundation’s ESSA Leadership Learning Community (ELLC), they have committed to work collaboratively to create models to employ ESSA Title I and Title II funds along with state and district strategies to promote school improvement.

In this video, you will hear from Secretary Pedro Rivera, on his team’s work with partners in school districts and Urban Leagues affiliates to create a Principal Residency Program and a Superintendent’s Academy which encourages school leaders to lead through an equity lens and understand that the success of a community is closely aligned with the success of a school.
