Washington, D.C. (March 22, 2018) – The Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) Executive Director Carissa Moffat Miller released the following statement upon U.S. House of Representatives approval of the Fiscal Year 2018 Appropriations Omnibus Bill.

“State chiefs are encouraged to see members of the House of Representatives voting to approve smart investments in critical education programs, including those that serve our most disadvantaged students and invest in improving school climate and safety, through the Fiscal Year 2018 omnibus funding bill. We look forward to the Senate approving this funding bill so states can begin using this additional funding to work closely with stakeholders to fully implement the Every Student Succeeds Act and ensure all students have the resources and support they need to be successful in school and in life.”
