Washington, D.C. (June 21, 2023) – Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) Chief Executive Officer Carissa Moffat Miller released the following statement about the 2023 NAEP Long-Term Trend Assessment Age 13 Reading and Mathematics results released today.
“The results released today illustrate the same concerning trends we saw in the Fall NAEP results.
States have been focused on intensive investing of federal and state funds to accelerate the academic recovery of students. These results underscore how much work is still ahead of us.
State leaders take these results seriously and will continue to evaluate and add supports to ensure every learner has what they need to be successful.”
