Deputy Superintendent for Academics & Student Achievement | State of Nevada
The Deputy Superintendent for Academics & Student Achievement provides statewide leadership to drive instructional excellence and student success across Nevada. To do so, they will serve as the chief architect of Nevada’s instructional system—aligning standards, curriculum, assessment, and support around a single, coherent goal: every student experiencing excellent Tier 1 instruction, every day. This position is responsible for translating Nevada’s education priorities into measurable results for students through strategy, implementation, and partnership.


Executive Director of Government Affairs | State of Maryland
This position serves as the Executive Director of the Office of Government Affairs, which involves the development and management of state and federal legislative strategy and operations for the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE). This includes managing departmental relations with elected officials at the federal, state, county, and municipal levels, with a focus on the Maryland General Assembly; working with offices across the Department to develop policy options and recommendations; leading the Department’s regulatory development and review process; and managing relationships with key education advocacy organizations on behalf of the State Superintendent.


Senior Associate Commissioner for District and School Assistance | State of Massachusetts
The Senior Associate Commissioner of District and School Assistance will be responsible for the overall management and strategy related to the improvement of persistently low-performing schools in the commonwealth. The position is a senior level position, serving on cabinet, and reporting to Deputy Commissioner Lauren Woo. The position oversees the Commissioner’s Accelerating Achievement Initiative, a new school improvement support initiative targeting a set of selected low-performing schools. To facilitate more sustained improvement in these schools the office will develop and implement a more rigorous approach to improvement planning in these schools and a refined support and assistance model.


Senior Associate Commissioner of Data, Assessment, and Accountability | State of Massachusetts
The Senior Associate Commissioner for Data, Assessment, and Accountability reports directly to a Deputy Commissioner, is a member of the Commissioner's Cabinet, and provides executive level decision-making, guidance and leadership for a wide range of Department programs and activities. The position participates to a substantial degree in formulating, determining, and implementing policy. This position has cabinet-level responsibility for two large offices at DESE: Student Assessment Services and the Office of Data and Accountability.


Senior Associate Commissioner of Secondary Schools and Beyond| State of Massachusetts
The Senior Associate Commissioner of Secondary Schools and Beyond will report to Deputy Commissioner, Lauren Woo and will directly supervise three offices: College, Career, and Technical Education (CCTE), the Office of Early College (OEC), and Adult and Community Learning Services (ACLS). Together, these offices oversee 36 FTEs. The role will be to coordinate efforts across these three offices so that the Department provides coherent and consistent supports for secondary students and adult learners throughout the Commonwealth. 


Senior Associate Commissioner for Special Education| State of Massachusetts
The Senior Associate Commissioner of Special Education will directly supervise four special education-related offices (Approved Special Education Schools, the Problem Resolution System, Special Education in Institutional Settings, and Special Education Planning and Policy). The role will be to coordinate efforts across these four offices and to coordinate closely with the Monitoring and Compliance Unit so that the Department provides coherent and consistent supports for students with disabilities throughout the Commonwealth. The Senior Associate Commissioner of Special Education will organize coordination meetings of the directors and assistant directors of those four teams, data review meetings with the leaders of the four special education offices and the Bureau of Special Education Appeals (three times per year), and quarterly all special education staff meetings.


Senior Associate Commissioner for Strategy, Monitoring and Compliance| State of Massachusetts
The Senior Associate Commissioner of Strategy, Monitoring and Compliance will be responsible for three large offices at DESE: the Office of Public School Monitoring, the Office of Problem Resolution and the Office of Planning, Strategy, and Research. The role will be to coordinate efforts across these three offices to align the fiscal and programmatic monitoring efforts of DESE, to implement the DESE's research agenda aligned to the Commissioner's strategic vision, to oversee DESE's federal grants office, and to coordinate DESE's response to general education complaints made to the Problem Resolution system.


State Director of Special Education| State of Vermont
The State Director of Special Education provides statewide leadership for special education programs serving students with disabilities across Vermont. This role oversees compliance with the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), guidance from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), and Vermont special education law. The Director works closely with school districts, state agencies, and federal partners to ensure special education services are delivered effectively, lawfully, and equitably.


AOE Deputy Chief of Academics| State of Vermont
This role is responsible for setting long-range academic priorities, guiding large-scale projects, and managing budgets and resources to support that work. The Deputy Chief collaborates closely with agency leadership and partners across Operations, Strategy and Accountability, and Policy and Communications to coordinate initiatives, align resources, and monitor progress. The position also prepares and presents information for agency leadership and, when needed, the Legislature.
