CCSSO Releases Statement on Virginia Chief Announcement

Washington, D.C. (March 14, 2025) – Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) Chief Executive Officer Carissa Moffat Miller released the following statement on Virginia Superintendent of Public Instruction Lisa Coons' announcement.

"Superintendent Coons is an education leader who I have gotten to work alongside as she led for the students of Virginia and previously Tennessee, and also in her role on CCSSO's Board of Directors. I am grateful for her ongoing dedication to students and for the valuable perspective she brings to our board and her colleagues across the country. I wish her the best in her next chapter."
