CCSSO Releases Statement on Election Results
Washington, D.C. (November 10, 2016) - The Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) Executive Director Chris Minnich released the following statement after the election on November 8, 2016.
"The Council of Chief State School Officers looks forward to working with the Trump Administration on the priorities state leaders in education have set to ensure every child - regardless of background - graduates prepared for college, careers, and life. CCSSO will offer ongoing advice and support to the new administration as it transitions into office and nominates a new U.S. Secretary of Education and leadership team at the U.S. Department of Education. We will be working closely with all state chiefs to show the new administration's transition team how states are leading on critical issues in education, including the implementation of the Every Student Succeeds Act."
The Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) is a nonpartisan, nationwide, nonprofit organization of public officials who head departments of elementary and secondary education in the states, the District of Columbia, the Department of Defense Education Activity, and five U.S. extra-state jurisdictions.
