CCSSO Releases RFP for Index to Aid Discovery of State Open Educational Resources

The Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) has released a Request for Proposals to create, implement and operate an index that will support states in the discovery of Open Educational Resources (OER). The solution will be similar to the Learning Registry but with additional functionality and ease-of-use. This solution will be called the Multi-state Metadata Index (MMI).

Proposals should address the creation, implementation, and operation of the MMI that will meet the needs of CCSSO member states. The MMI will not serve as a repository but will be a directory of URLs and the associated metadata for open educational resources.

For more information, please download the full Request for Proposals, including an addendum with a list of questions and answers about the RFP. All proposals must be received in writing (either printed or electronic) by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, August 4, 2017.

CCSSO is working to advance the understanding, adoption and implementation of OER practices at state and district levels. To learn more about CCSSO's work in this area, visit
