Washington, D.C. (November 23, 2016) - President-Elect Donald Trump said today he will nominate Betsy DeVos for U.S. Secretary of Education.

Chris Minnich, executive director of the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO), issued the following statement:

"We are excited to get to know Secretary DeVos and her priorities for students across the country. The state chiefs have been leading to improve education for all kids, including the transition to the Every Student Succeeds Act, and will continue to in the future. We look forward to working with Secretary Devos and her team at the U.S. Department of Education to extend the leadership from the states."
