Fall EIMAC Summit
Thank you for your participation and engagement at last week's Fall EIMAC meeting in New Orleans, LA. This meeting allowed us to dig into a number of issues around ESSA implementation, data privacy and security, infrastructure, data use, and resource allocation. We shared best practice and deliberated tough challenges, we seized opportunities for collaboration, and continued to build on our important work together.
I am energized every time we meet. The work going on in your individual states and the way you are able to collaborate here at EIMAC is sensational! Over the next several months, we will continue this work virtually. The CIO Network will meet again in February, and we will be together as a large group in May. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of us.
In the latest entry in the OER Fellow Blog, learn more about the state of research surrounding Open Educational Resources in K-12 and what's needed to move forward in our understanding of OER. "With the momentum of the K-12 open movement, including the #GoOpen campaign, it is an important time to take a look at the research on K-12 OER adoption. Looking at the research reveals what we understand about OER and where we need to do more work to fill in knowledge gaps that will keep the open movement on the right track." If you have anything you would like to contribute to next month's EDIS Update, or you just want to brag about your state's success, we would love to hear from you! Please email Ryan MacDonald at mailto:Ryan.MacDonald@ccsso.orgwith any exciting news or noteworthy items you would like to share.
