EDIS Update 03.08.17
Dear EIMAC Members, Partners and Friends,
During the CIO Network Meeting last month, the CIOs and CCSO team discussed the idea of modifying the current EIMAC membership into peer-to-peer networks around the working group topic area. Each work group (Data Use, Resource Allocation, Infrastructure, and Data Privacy & Security) would have role alike members and be led by designated lieutenants (1-3) to guide the work forward. We'd also have a work group that's dedicated to advocacy that would focus on specific actions as needed.
The CIOs brainstormed and outlined prioritizes for each working group during the meeting. You can find the in-depth notes on Groupsite here and below are the overarching priorities:
- Data Use
- Public Reporting
- LEA Certification
- Data Warehouse
- Data Standards
- Resource Allocation
- Financial Transparency
- CIO Network Information Portal
- Grant Management Systems
- Data Privacy and Security
- TLC Certification
- Policies with Agency
- Data Burden
As we develop the agenda for the Spring EIMAC Meeting, we will incorporate these priorities and begin to set clear actions for the workgroups. If you have any questions, please contact Kimberly Gondwe at Kimberly.Gondwe@ccsso.org

March's blog post focuses on equity and cultural relevance when vetting OER. America's rapidly shifting demographics are motivating states to ensure their curricula are meeting the needs of tomorrow's population. "State leaders are well aware that in order to achieve big picture educational goals, students must feel that the resources made available to them acknowledge their lived experiences as well." Find the full blog post here.
If you have anything you would like to contribute to next month's EDIS Update, or you just want to brag about your state's success, we would love to hear from you! Please email Ryan MacDonald at Ryan.MacDonald@ccsso.org with any exciting news or noteworthy items you would like to share.
