New England Secondary School Consortium's Common Data Project Releases 3rd Annual Report on State Education Outcome Data
The New England Secondary School Consortium's Common Data Project released its third annual report (2013-14 school year) that tracks four performance indicators: graduation rate, dropout rate, college enrollment and college persistence. The project utilizes common metrics that enable an accurate comparison of state education outcomes in the region and includes data from Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The project includes data from 2009-2014 and shows a general positive trend across the performance indicators. New Hampshire Commissioner of Education Virginia Barry noted the importance of this work and said, "The member states' continued collaboration on data collection and reporting methods has resulted in new data that can be used to make informed policy decisions at the state level in New Hampshire." A press release from the Consortium about the latest results is here.
